Problem: Asics was experiencing stunted sales due to changes in consumer trends and sales channels. To put themselves back on track, they wanted to prioritize resources in growth areas and improve profitability.

Actions:

  • Researched the 18- to 24- year old market to discover that the main customer pain point the lack of a shoe that provided support and flexibility without compromising style

  • Designed a shoe that met performance, comfort, and style needs by analyzing various technological solutions and sourcing strategies

  • Ensured the Asics Trinity shoe accommodated the biomechanics of the foot while staying within a reasonable price range

Result: Created a digital prototype and distribution strategy for the Asics Trinity shoe; presented to senior management for potential new product design.
