EXPERIENCE

Director of business development

Hayden Sports

April 2018 - present

In April 2018, I became the Marketing Coordinator at Hayden Sports. Being a well-established business in a niche environment, their social media platforms existed, but did not impact sales to their potential. It was my goal to leverage and revitalize all of the store’s social media platforms to drive foot traffic and sales. As May approached, I saw a need for the store to increase its branding, integrated marketing campaigns, and overall business development efforts. With visions and objectives in mind, I set forth steps to execute them, and was promoted to the Director of Business Development. Some of my responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop and administer all advertising operations and store events in order to drive sales and build brand awareness. Analyze sales and net income from each campaign in order to gauge its effectiveness and tweak future campaigns.

  • Research new merchandise and marketing opportunities to stay current with market trends and generate sales. Brought in a new clothing line, which became a top seller within the first three weeks and continues to hold that position. Manage sales of that line as well as maintain all contact with the distributor.

  • Actively seek out and develop partnerships with UNH, area businesses, and athletic organizations to strengthen brand awareness and create cross-promotional opportunities.

  • Create and post content for the store’s social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as post photos and monitor activity on the store's Google Business account.

  • Create and manage email marketing campaigns using Constant Contact. Analyze sales after each promotional email.

  • Regularly participate in town business meetings to build closer community relationships with surrounding community and generate more in-town foot traffic.

I am so thankful for this opportunity because I truly think it has given me the chance to apply what I am learning in the classroom to a real business environment and shape my professional goals.
